She was born to Francisco and Victoria of Colorado and was one of 10 children.
Beloved sister, wife, mother, and GG passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side.
Nellie worked 40+ years at St. Joesph Hospital, where she met her husband Raul of 35 years.
she did numerous jobs, but was most famous for her corner of the cafeteria named Nellie’s Deli
She loved working there and enjoyed meeting so many new people. She was loved and respected by all who she served.
The most important thing to Nellie was her faith and her family, never failing to give a bit of advice but also never overstepping.
Nellie loved spending time with all her family, most of all with her grandkids and all her great- grandbabies, her favorite role was being GG, her arms were never too full to hold another baby. They were truly the light of her life. Her home was a place where many memories were created and will never be forgotten.
She survived by her four daughters, Rachel Martinez, Christine (Steven) Garcia, Angelica (Gilbert) Martinez, and Veronica (Steve) Rodriguez. Her nine grandchildren, Jared, Theresa, Daniel, Gilbert, Jessica, Cesar, Roman, McKenzie and Kaylee, and her 16 great-grandbabies. Her brothers Richard (Peggy) Suniga, Alex (Lucy) Suniga, and her sister Anna Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nellie will always be remembered for the way she loved her God, family and life. She will always be famous for her homemade tortillas. We couldn’t have asked for a better role model in our life.
She will be missed every day, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
