Laurence “Larry” Everett Stewart passed away peacefully at his home in Littleton, Colorado September 29, 2023.

Larry was born July 17, 1931 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Everett and Frances Stewart.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Everett Stewart, mother Frances Stewart, former wife Patricia “Patty” Stewart and wife Patricia “Pat” Fairbanks, sisters Dr. Lauraine Stewart Critchfield of Mechanicsville, VA and Susan McKnelly of Arlington, VA.

He is survived by his brothers Douglas Stewart of Lamaine, Maine and Brian Stewart of Sun City Center, Fl, including several nieces and nephews. Larry was the father of three daughters, Tracy Alison Stewart of Brooklyn Heights, NY, Shelby Macarthur Stewart of Richmond, VA and Ashley Laurence Stewart Waltemath of Omaha, NE.

After graduating from the College of William & Mary in 1953, for the defense of our country, Larry proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1960 with the rank of Captain. Upon returning, he began his civilian life in a manufacturing program at General Electric in Lynn, MA. Making steps throughout his long career, Larry retired from the Aerospace sector of Martin Lockheed in Littleton, CO and had lived there since.

Larry especially enjoyed the lovely Normand Estates neighborhood and the friendships he cultivated. He was known as an avid dog lover as he had several over the years. He will be missed by many.

Larry’s family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciating to all of his thoughtful neighbors and kind friends. Your gracious gestures mean a lot to us. Burial will take place at Fort Logan at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to K9s for Warriors or other veteran support organizations.

A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held at the Normandy Estates Pool Clubhouse, 5380 W Coal Mine Ave Littleton, Colorado October 24th from 5pm-7pm.
