Jill Stevens

Obituary of Jill Elaine Stevens

Jill Elaine Stevens died September 23, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was stubborn, a survivor, a believer in family, and one who loved hard.

Jill was born October 5, 1947, in San Jose, California, to John Buller and Rosie (Kirkpatrick) Buller.  At the time of her birth, she was the youngest of six siblings.

The family soon moved to Nebraska, first to Aurora and then to Henderson. After a divorce, Rosie married Abraham Doell, who adopted the Buller children. Jill repeatedly described him as “the best dad.” Growing up, Jill liked to dance, get into trouble, run hurdles in track and play volleyball.

She married Alfred Lincoln on Dec. 31, 1966. They had four children and divorced in 1981. During that time, she studied to become an LPN and, later, with her license, worked at a nursing home in North Platte, Nebraska.

She spent six years living life to the fullest in North Carolina, California and back before landing in Colorado Springs in 1987. Aside from a couple of brief adventures in Alaska and Nebraska, she lived in the area until her death.

She was a master at customer service – in restaurants, casinos, and convenience stores – and she also had a fulfilling stint as a medical transcriptionist. Through her varied jobs and residences, she enjoyed exploring Colorado with her children, spoiling her grandchildren, and vacationing with her sister.

She is survived by four children (Justin Lincoln and spouse, Lisa Kreidel; Melissa Lincoln; Stephanie and spouse, Roger Nachtigal; and Steven and spouse, Karrie Lincoln); five grandchildren (Hannah Brunner, Kaitlyn Harriss (Austin), Robin Sawyer (Cole), Vivienne Kreidel-Lincoln, and Mina Kreidel-Lincoln); four siblings (Janice Trewern (Jim), Jerold Doell (Yvonne), Joyce Ann Doell (Roger Goodwin), and Jeff Doell (Nancy)), and her significant other Joe Scrittore.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John Buller and Jim Doell.
