On the morning of August 05, 2023, Karen Petersen (KP) Smith passed away peacefully due to natural causes at her home in Westminster, CO. KP was 71 years old.

KP was born in Riverton, WY to Mervin and Charlotte Petersen, and grew up in Rolla, MO and Wheat Ridge, CO. She spent much of her adult life in the Denver area. She worked as a sales representative and as a manicurist/nail technician. She was creative and artistic, and made handmade birthday and greeting cards for family and friends. She enjoyed music and reading, and was known for her wide-ranging sense of humor.

KP is preceded in death by her mother Charlotte, her father Mervin, and her husbands Jared Smith and Daniel Holub. She is survived by her sisters Patricia, Susan, and Denise, her brother Lee, and faithful friends TJ, Art, and Andy.
