Obituary of Laura "Lori" Tesch-Burns

Laura "Lori" Tesch-Burns, loving mother of two and grandmother of five, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2023 in Broomfield, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on January 29, 1955 to Robert "Bob" and Barbara "Barb" Fasel. Lori grew up working at her family's bakery in Valpo, Fasel's Rustic Inn, in which she loved to share many stories about. Lori attended Valparaiso High School. In 2012, she retired from Lockheed Martin after 32 years of dedicated service. Lori was a Computer Specialist who was well respected; she received many awards and accolades during her tenure.

She was incredibly funny with her quick-witted sense of humor and uncanny ability to make people laugh and smile. Lori would make friends everywhere she went. She loved to cook and enjoyed playing card games, scrabble, and dominoes with her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting antique stores. Lori was the beloved matriarch of our family and was very proud of her daughters and grandchildren.

Lori is survived by her two daughters Kimberly Klepper and Rachel Renteria; son-in-law TJ Renteria; her five grandchildren: Jakob Klepper, Kacey Klepper, Daniel Renteria, Damian Renteria, and Harper Renteria; her brother Robert "Bob" Fasel, Jr.; Sister-n-law Linda Moodrey; niece and nephews; and several cousins.

Lori's wishes were to not have a funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valpo Schools Foundation Home - Valpo Schools Foundation or if you choose, plant flowers or a tree in her honor. Her favorite flowers were tulips and lavender.

Momma, you have impacted our lives in so many ways. The strong mothers we are today is because of you. Our children know generosity, love, and respect because of you. We will always love you and you'll live on forever in our hearts.

"He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." -Revelation 21:4 ESV
