Obituary of Todd Tusek

Family & Friends, it is with the most unfathomable sadness we share the news that Todd Tusek began his journey as our guardian angel on June 23rd, 2023 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. A Father, Husband, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend & Mentor, he was and forever is, the embodiment of love. He loved without conditions, without remorse and with every fiber of his being. He always loved in the way he knew best. Fun. Laughter, and time spent together.

Todd was born June 25th, 1963 in Westland, Michigan to Frank Tusek and Agnes Babik. He is preceded in death by his father Frank but survived by his children, Kylee, Logan, McKenna, Emily and T.J. His grandchildren Faith, Adrian, Lukas, Penny and Maverick. His mother Agnes and his siblings, Dale (Brenda), Lori (Les), Alan (Alyson), and Rodney (Donna), their amazing spouses. His nieces & nephews, and many more extended members of our beautiful mixed family. He married his amazing wife Marcie, September 22nd 2000 where he would go on to build a beautiful family for the next 23 years

Todd is described as the “social butterfly” and the “Energizer battery of Love”. Throughout his life, he displayed incredible acts of strength, perseverance and unconditional love. He had a unique ability to find a friend in the most unlikely of places.

In this life, Todd attended Control Data Institute while beginning his career as the “Pinball guy”. He started out as a humble repairman at Mountain Coin in 1992 where soon he would flourish into what we would now know as “Universal Pinball”, accomplishing the amazing feat of being a small business owner for 3 decades. Alongside this life long business endeavor, Todd was a collector of hobbies and skills with a new adventure around every corner. He needed a new workbench? No problem - he built one in the garage in just a week. The two youngest girls wanted a bunk bed. Yea, he built that too. Sometimes the deck needed some work - to him that was just an after work project. From being an attendee to all of his daughter’s fashion shows to building model cars with his sons - every adventure was given his undivided attention. He loved being surrounded by nature whether it was camping with his family, hiking the Rocky Mountains or zipping along the winding mountain side on his motorcycle with his wife - this was when he was the happiest.

Family is and forever will be the most important thing to Todd. And he would make it clear to everyone in his circle that his biggest accomplishment in this life is his children & grandchildren. He was generous with his knowledge and kindness. He taught us the value of ambition and working hard. The raw power of love and laughter. To find bravery by taking the leap of faith, the road less traveled. The courage to live a life with authenticity and pride in the individuals we were destined to become. He showed us the peace in stopping to smell all the flowers, and taking a moment to feel the sun on our skin. He taught us how to make a big breakfast on Sunday mornings. How to sing the lyrics to a song just a little bit faster than normal. How to enjoy roller skating around the kitchen on a random Tuesday in July. Just by being himself, he taught us to believe in ourselves the same way he believes in us.

He was taken from this life entirely too soon, but because of him, we were taught how to live life to its fullest. A life of fun, laughter and time spent together. So now we get the choice on how to live every day when we wake up. And I hope after today we choose to live like Todd just one more day. Making a new friend in every person we meet. Loving with every fiber of our being.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 15th, 2023, at 11:00am, at Revive Church 8270 W 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80005.
