Brian Daniel Archuleta

Brian Archuleta, age 78 entered eternal rest on March 21, 2023. Brian was born in Denver, Colorado to Magdalene and Lawrence Archuleta on October 29, 1944. Brian was the fifth son born in the sequence of 8 children, seven boys and one girl. Norman, Spencer (Tessie), Gary (Vicci), Rodger (MaryJo), Wayne (Maria), Wesley (Barb) and the youngest sister Linette. He is preceded in death by both parents and brothers Norman, Gary, Wayne and sister Linette.

The Archuleta Family lived in east Denver on Champa Street until they moved to North Denver on Alcott Street when he was in middle school. Brian attended Westminster High School. Sometime later he followed his older brother Spencer to San Francisco where he indulged in the hippie lifestyle and the pleasures of the Haight Ashbury neighborhood. While he was there, he worked for Rolling Stone Magazine where he was able to see Janis Joplin, Santana, Jimi Hendrix and many other bands.

In 1974 Brian married Gail Leroux and was happily married until her passing in 2004. Brian became the father to Sherry (who preceded his passing in 2006)  Jacqueline, Brandy and Matthew.

Sherry was married to Robert Vialpando and had four children, Brian, Brittany (Josh) their children are Joshua, Sherry, Isaiah and Jeramiah. Justin and Paris.

Brandy Armijo Is Married to Stephen Armijo and they have 3 sons. Devin (Rhiannon) daughter Teagan. Sebastian and King is his youngest grandchild.

Matthew was his youngest son who passed away at the age of three years old.

Brian worked for the City and County of Denver for over 25 years where he won countless awards for his dedication and work ethic. He retired in 2007 to be a full time Grandpa to his best friend King. They played, went for long walks to McDonalds went swimming and visits to Uncle Normans house. He taught King to live “the bachelor life” which consisted of drinking out the cartons, not taking showers, eating hot dogs and finding new ways to start trouble. He traveled all over to out of state tournaments to watch him play.

Brian has experienced a lot of loss however he remained a shining light and a beacon of joy. His faith and faithfulness to GOD was something we all admired and tried to emulate. To know Brian was to love him. He always had a joke to tell and hand to lend. He was loving, compassionate, giving, kind and always had the best advice. Brian was born of the generation where men were strong, brave and hardworking. His favorite saying was “If its no longer serving you, dust off your boots and move on” He lived by that saying and taught his children to do the same. Brian was cut from a different cloth, and they just don’t make it anymore.

Brian will be missed by so many people including cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong family friends and neighbors.
