Arlene Myers

Obituary of Arlene Grace Myers

On Friday, January 20, 2023, our beloved mother Arlene Grace Myers passed away at the age of 84. Born to Sarah and Michael Noel, in 1938, Arlene was one of 5 children raised in a small home in Gallitzin, PA. After graduating high school in 1956, Arlene married the love of her life, Thomas A. Myers, on November 3, 1956 and proceeded to have 3 children.

Arlene is survived by her brother: Glenn Noel (PA); her children: John Myers (GA), Daniel Myers (CO), Lori Myers Hackbarth (CO); grandchildren: Sarah Taylor (CO) Sierra Myers (WA), Mason Myers (CO), Amber Myers (WY) Kim Yarber (AZ), Aspen Zadel (CO), Dalton Hackbarth (CO) and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sarah and Michael Noel, sister Gale Gibbons, bothers Harry and James Noel, and grandson Kenny Myers.

Arlene loved the outdoors. She had a beautiful garden at her home that included dozens of roses that her husband planted for her, flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. She would spend hours outside soaking up the sun and enjoying the beauty of it all. She would often share stories with her children and grandchildren of growing up in the woods of Pennsylvania; walks to the crick or pond with her mother and friends, collecting flowers, ginseng, bird watching, and doing what kids do. Arlene was also an avid hunter and fisherman and the family would often spend most of their weekends camping, hiking and enjoying nature.

Arlene was an excellent cook and an amazing baker! She started working as a baker in the elementary school cafeteria where her daughter attended. Through her hard work and dedication, she retired in 1996 as a Cafeteria Manager for School District 12. After retirement, and the passing of her husband, Arlene continued to be very active and found joy in giving back to others. She worked part-time as a Dental Office Assistant, volunteered at St. Anthony North and she also enjoyed giving back to the community through her church.

Arlene was a strong women in both her faith and her resilience of life. She loved her family and friends so very much. She was always there if you needed anything and was always eager to help. She was a wonderful woman, friend and confidant and she will forever be loved, and missed by her family and friends.
