In 1948, when Alfred Valdez returned to Trinidad after his service in the Army, he met and married Jennie Gonzales. Together, they moved to Denver where they raised the 5th, 6th and 7th generations of the Valdez family in Colorado.

Just like her husband, Alfred, Jennie loved her Broncos. She never missed watching their games. She also loved working on her drawings and word searches – “always start with the last letter!” is what she would teach us. Jennie had a real sweet tooth. She loved her cookies and chocolates which she could eat because they were “sugar-free.”

Jennie always enjoyed all of the family gatherings particularly her birthday parties. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jennie will be laid to rest with her husband Alfred Valdez.
