Obituary of Lee Lawrence Coleman

Lee L Coleman

4-21-1959 to 11-4-2021

Lee Coleman, age 62, beloved husband, father, Papa and brother passed into the arms of his Savior on November 4, 2021 in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Lee was a 1977 graduate of Colfax High School in Colfax, California and lived in the Meadow Vista and Auburn area until he joined the Army in 1979.

Lee, a Gulf War Veteran, was retired from the US Army.  He loved the Army for all the travel it brought him and the he people met.  Lee currently worked for the US Post Office and thoroughly enjoyed carrying mail, where each day brought new people to meet and that was his highlight.  For the last few years, he worked in customer service which brought about working with new coworkers whom he truly valued.

Lee loved fishing, camping and his grandkids.  He purchased an RV several years ago and he loved to take this out and explore..  Each trip brought a new adventure and he always wanted to camp close to a body of water, whether it be a lake or a river, to take advantage of fishing.  Prior to that he would take his motorcycle on long distances to different states and throughout Colorado exploring.

He cherished his  five grandkids and they were the highlight of his life.  He took advantage of every opportunity to spend time with them and he was even known to climb on the trampoline to jump with them.  There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his grandkids.

Lee was also known to always carry his set of tools, because you never knew when something would need to be fixed and he wanted to be prepared to take care of it.  He was passionate about serving at his church and this included finding projects to work on. He also was willing to help  family, friends and members of the church with their projects, late into the night and on his days off as well.

Lee was a man of great faith and loved his family dearly. Lee never knew a stranger, whether camping, church, store, or just walking around the block.  His friendly personality will always shine on.

He is survived by his wife Becky, son Adam (Theresa), daughter Hannah Meininger (Jared) Brother Rodney (Jackie), sisters Maudelle (Ron) and Roxie (Steve).  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Zoe, Dax, Truleigh and Colette.  He is preceded in death by granddaughter Ava, mother Rose Mary, and brother Buddy Thomas.

Services will be Sunday, November 21, 2021 4 p.m. at Legacy Christian Fellowship; Thornton, CO.

There will also be full Military Honors given Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2:15 p.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery Staging area "C".
