Obituary of Ethel Hefley

Ethel May Shaw Parker Hefley, 83, of Denver, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born Novemebr 9, 1925 in Medford, Massachusetts to Alice and William Shaw. She married Alan Breck Parker, the father of her four children, in 1946. She traveled the world with her first husband, Breck, raising her children in three languages on three continents. She worked as a dental hygienist for the Cody Dental Group for some years. She was preceded in death by first husband, Breck, her second husband Charles Towle, and her third husband Donald Hefley. Her last years were spent in the company and care of the excellent staff at Lifecare Center of Westminster where she was known for her bright mind, her quick wit and the speed of her electric wheelchair. She is survived by her four children (Kirtly Parker Jones, Steven Shaw Parker, Rosalind Parker Yocom, and Samuel Wentworth Parker), her six grandchildren, and her new great granddaughter Georgia. Her children give their sincere thanks to the wonderful staff at Lifecare Center of Westminster and her physicians and PA’s at Evercare for making her last four years so comfortable.
