Ursula Marie Barela, daughter of the late Amelia and Bartolo Barela Sr., was born January 20, 1961 and passed away peacefully on January 19, 2023 at the age of 61 while at home on hospice, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her siblings Bonifacio Barela Sr., Bartolo Barela Jr., Thomas Barela, Juanita Martinez and great grandson Leo Garcia.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children, Joseph Garcia Jr. , Rebecca Garcia, Christina “Jasmine” Garcia, Amanda Garcia, Maria “Mariah” Garcia ,Valerie Garcia, her grandchildren Adrian Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Samantha Garcia, Jordan Garcia, LaBella Garcia, Jazlena Garcia, Ariana Quintana, Kailani Lee and Landon Pardee, her great grandchildren, Analicia Martinez-Garcia and Olivia Garcia and her siblings Arthur Barela, Veronica Montoya, Theresa Martinez, Elizabeth Barela and Susan Barela.
Ursula got her education through Denver Public Schools and Red Rocks Community College. She worked as a dental assistant before devoting her life to being a full-time mom/caregiver to her grandkids. She dedicated years of her life to being a foster mom, and eventually adopting two of her children. She will live on in our memory as a caring, loving and genuinely good person.
