Thomas Lincoln Rigli, 71, passed away peacefully at home July 20, 2021, after a seven-month battle with cancer. Tom was born April 25, 1950, in Denver, Colorado to Earnest and Mary Jane Rigli. He married the love of his life, Karen Wells Rigli, on June 14, 1975. They had just celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Together they had two daughters, Alicia Borrego and Shauna Rigli.
Tom was loved by many. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life. He treasured time with his family. He was especially proud of his role as Papa to his granddaughters, Lauren Leonhardt and Ariana Borrego. Tom loved to fish, camp, travel, gamble and spend time outdoors. He loved Italian food, especially spaghetti, meatballs and homemade bread.
Tom was raised in Lakewood, Colorado. Educated in Jefferson County Public Schools, Tom attended Alameda High School. He worked various jobs before deciding to make a career of glazing. He attended Emily Griffith Apprenticeship School in 1974. Throughout his long career, Tom worked at numerous glass shops in the Denver area. Prior to his death, he worked at IBP, F/K/A Cutting Edge Glass. Tom called his colleagues "his family" and he cared deeply for them.
Tom is survived by his wife Karen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Alicia Borrego (Chuck), Arvada, and Shauna Rigli, Denver; his granddaughters Lauren Leonhardt and Ariana Borrego; two brothers Mike Rigli and Doug Rigli; one sister Carol Leonardo; motherin-law Helen Wells; sisters-in-law Luann Grout (Kevin) and Cindy Caraway (Rick); brothers-in-law Dennis Wells and Rodney Wells (Lori); and his cherished nieces and nephews. Many friends mourn Tom's passing and will sorely miss his companionship.
